Otis Mountain
Category: Reopened or "Partially" Lost Ski Areas
This was your typical small locals only T-bar/ropetow ski area that hit hard time during the 1980's and closed down sometime in that same decade. However, the smaller ropetow slope was reopened in 1995 and the hill focuses heavily on terrain park features now. This appears to be a very primitive operation though as there didn't even appear to be a base lodge or shack or anything there, aside from two VERY sketchy looking outhouses, complete with shower curtains for doors! On the abandoned side of the hill, the summit/main T-bar, a classic Hall, was not reopened with the ropetow slope and is now badly weathered. The slopes it serves appear to be almost completely grown in as well.
