Parkman Mountain [trailhead]

DIFFICULT - From the summit, views of Somes Sound and vistas of Northeast Harbor.

Although the National Park Service has a parking area designated as Parkman Mountain, there is no direct access to the trail(s) leading to the peak of Parkman. If you want to climb Parkman from this direction, continue down Rte. 198 South approx. 1/4 mile and park at the Norumbega parking area on right. Go across the street near the north end of the lot and follow the trail marker there for a few hundred yards. The trail will split, and the trail to Parkman will head off to the left.
