Patient Hotels were founded in 1988 to save money on expensive hospital beds. By focusing on recovering patients, their partnership with a successful hotel company allowed them to create an environment that was more conducive to rehabilitation and far cheaper to run. Patient Hotel beds save 60% on traditional hospital provision and the idea has spread throughout Scandinavia and to Birmingham.
