Pol Pot and his Plan for Cambodia

Pol Pot, then known as Saloth Sar, studied in Paris as a young man. While studying there, he found a passion in studying the French Communist Party. He failed his exams in France, making him favorable in the eyes of the French Communist Party because the uneducated had an advantage, an advantage that Pol Pot would later enforce in his communist regime. He was sent back to Cambodia and later formed the Khmer People's Revolutionary Party, later known as the Khmer Rouge: a group that would eventually end peace, structure, and many lives in Cambodia.
