Police hunt handbag thief, Cairns North

Investigations are underway into the theft of a handbag from a woman on Upward Street on Monday. The 55-year-old woman was walking along a bike path shortly before midday when a male cyclist rode past her and snatched her handbag. The bag was later recovered after the offender discarded it further along the pathway however the victim’s wallet and keys remain outstanding. The offender is described as being an indigenous male aged in his mid 20’s. He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts and thongs.
