In an unrelated incident, a 26-year-old Kewarra Beach man was charged after he allegedly pushed a police officer in the chest and then resisted arrest at Macrossan Street, Port Douglas around 12.40 this morning. The man was charged with commit public nuisance, assault police and two counts of obstruct police. He is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court August 31.
