Raku Tiles

Review: The tiles on this wall were created as a partnership between the owner of the building and Curtis Senior High School art department.The developer approached ceramics instructor, John Lewtas with the challenge of adding interest to the long expanse of brick wall at the back of his public storage complex. Students worked together to design and create this series of six tile inserts for the wall. The owner of the storage facility, donated the kiln capable of firing the raku pieces to the art department as part of the partnership.
