Location. The classic Richmond Hotel (Fla.) is in the center of Miami Beach's Art Deco District, directly on the Atlantic with a palm lined pool and spa between the hotel and the beach. Built in 1941, the restored and modernized hotel remains a great example of the architecture of the World War II period. The hotel is just three blocks from Lincoln Road's bistros and abundant shops, and close to the glamour of South Beach's clubs, boutiques and cafes.
Hotel Features. Guests can exercise in the fitness center, swim in the outdoor pool or half moon spa pool, and relax on the umbrella shaded chairs and loungers. Just past the area, a private walkway leads to the beach. The hotel rooftop features a terrace and a solarium. The Verandah Restaurant serves espresso and breakfasts.

Guestrooms. Simple guestrooms feature all white bedding, down comforters and blond oak bed frames. Attractive accents include red umbrellas, original bathroom tiles, 1930s inspired clocks, Art Deco inspired floor lamps and minibars. Framed, enlarged prints of Miami Beach postcards, circa 1940, decorate the walls.

Expert Tip. The Art Center South Florida on Lincoln Road is a great place to escape the crowds and tour the studios of working artists.
