Robber attacks Earlville shop attendant

A ROBBER hit a shop attendant with a fence paling as she tried to fend him off with a baton at an Earlville convenience store yesterday.

The male robber and a female entered the store on Balaclava Rd, Earlville, about 4pm.

The male brandished a fence paling at the employee who armed herself with a baton in self defence.

He disarmed the employee and assaulted her with the fence paling before a customer entered the store and intervened.

The female assaulted the customer before the two thieves left the store empty handed.

The employee and witness both escaped with minor injuries.

The female offender is of Islander appearance with a heavy build and was wearing a purple T-shirt.
The male is also of Islander appearance, about 167cm tall with a slim build and aged in his mid to late teens.

He was wearing a white T-shirt with a pattern and white shorts.
