Robbery in company, Cairns CBD

Police are investigating an unarmed robbery that occurred in McLeod Street in the early hours of this morning. At around 3.15am a 37-year-old Woree man was walking along the street when he was approached by a group of youths. He spoke with the youths for a short time and one of them then punched him. The others then commenced punching and kicking the man before stealing his wallet and phone. The man sustained cuts, bruising and swelling to the face as a result of the attack and was admitted to the Cairns Base Hospital. The offenders are described as being three Aboriginal males about 20 years of age, and a Caucasian male and female of similar age.
