This, the second Rogers Field, was completed in 1949. It was at one time a quarry for top grade clay.
The Stadium's namesake, William Andrew Rogers, was a coach from 1903-1916. Mr. Rogers served as Chairman of the Athletic Committee after his retirement as coach. It was at this time "Trojan" was adopted as the name for the college teams.
