In the 1800s, a man named J.B. Tyrrell came to the valley looking for coal. Instead of coal he found a giant skull. This skull turned out to be from a dinosaur called the Albertasaurus (http://www.dinosaurvalley.com/Visiting_Drumheller/History/).
The Royal Tyrrell Museum is named after J.B. Tyrrell, and it is filled with dinosaur bones. Today Drumheler is known worldwide for its fossils, and it remains a huge tourist attraction.
Listen to this short clip, very carefully. http://www.histori.ca/minutes/minute.do?id=13477 (this one needs headphones) Close your eyes and imagine you are Mr. Tyrrell, draw a map of the campground and the surrounding area.
