S-21 was a high school that the Khmer Rouge converted into their largest known prison. The inmates were tortured by forced labor, starvation, being buried alive, rape, and being forced to witness murder. Of the 20,000 inmates in S-21 there are only 3 known survivors. An estimated 2 million Cambodians lost their lives during Pol Pot's rule.
