The SAJE “Ice Cream Social In The PARK”:

The SAJE Park will be one of two parks located in South LA and the only one in the Figueroa Corridor. Based in a South LA “industrial zone,” SAJE’s neighborhood was once primarily residential, and there continues to be children and families on every street. However, those families now live right next door to warehouses and sweatshops. For several blocks in every direction from our community space at SAJE, there is not one green space or outdoor gathering space. We will be messaging that our community is just that—a community—and that we have the right to good resources and access to green space while also promoting a good time in the park by giving out ice cream cones to all our park participants.
