Sculptures By Sean Taylor
Category: Contemporary Public Art
Arlington Street, Woodlands
These sculptures by Sean Taylor were erected in 1995. They show large human figures that seem to clinging to the gable end of a new housing block. But if you look a bit closer, you can see that the figure is made up of dozens of leaves. Each leaf is made of iron which has been welded together.
In the close up you can see the details on each leaf and the way it stands out from the brick wall. It is like a huge jigsaw of leaves. The colour of the iron is like the colour of fallen autumn leaves.
