Dan's Lost Ski Area Explorations

User Rating

**March 2009**
Trails: Several of the old ski trails have been (somewhat) cleared for hiking, but most slopes were left to grow in and go back to nature. Imagination can pick out where a few likely were though.
Lifts:Same as previous visit. Concrete pad at the top of the T-bar is the only major remnant. This lift's liftline however is still perfectly clear and maintained as a hiking trail, and was delineated from the main ski trails by a row of old growth pine trees that still stand in the forest today. Also found a few discarded ropetow car rims in the woods along the liftline.
Facilities: Still none, but I did happen to find a square area of pavement that may have been a lift building's foundation. Main lift buildings were probably taken over by the machine shop near the base. Entire base area still a clear field/sandpit.
Accessibility: Same as previous visit. Completely open to the public. Archery hunting is permitted though so wear bright colors during hunting season.

**Spring 2003**
Trails: Have to use your imagination. They're grown in for the most part. A little bit more visible on the satellite imagery.
Lifts: All gone. Only remains I could find was the concrete pad for the T-bar at the top of the trails.
Facilities: Nothing left. All torn down.
Accessibility: Fairly easy. Hiking trails in the area that criss cross the area.
