Police have charged a 19-year-old woman with serious assault, obstruct a police officer, assault a police officer and public nuisance after creating a disturbance in the Cairns Central Business District on Friday night. Police were called to the corner of Grafton and Shields streets where a woman had been involved in an altercation with a man. Police arrested the woman for public nuisance when it’s alleged she kicked out at the police officer’s and their vehicle, bit the hand of one officer and spat on them. The 19-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 16.
