Shopper arrested after threatening behaviour, Cooktown

A 20-year-old Cooktown man is due to appear in the Cooktown Magistrates Court on March 2 after creating a disturbance in a local supermarket. It will be alleged the man entered the Helen Street store shortly after 6pm and became abusive toward staff before producing a cigarette lighter and threatening to burn the store. Police located the man a short distance from the store and he was arrested and charged with committing a public nuisance offence.
