Ski-W/Stark's Hill
Category: Abandoned Ski Areas
**August 2008**
Trails: Still distinguishable, but new growth is definitely making hiking more and more difficult.
Lifts: Found a collapsed wooden structure at the top of the ropetow slope that probably housed the ropetow's motor. Summit T-bar still standing almost entirely, minus base and summit return terminals though. Lift appears to be mostly homemade, aside from a Mueller portal tower near the base. Also found a homemade T-hanger growing into a tree halfway up the line (which was EXTREMELY grown in, by the way).
Facilities: All gone. Lodge burned down in the 70's, which consequently killed the ski area.
Accessibility: The ski area is located down Quarry Road, just off of Haley Town Road, which is just off of Route 302. The road is unpaved and narrow, but drivable (as mentioned, there is a single house down near the end of the maintained section of road. Looks to be more hiking trails on the hill unrelated to the ski area.
