Recently reviewed by Josh at Idaho Hot Springs this hot spring pool has been redesigned with a novel new plastic flotation collar (like those used to rein in oil spills) that effectively traps the hot spring waters from mixing too fast with the cold river water.
Driving Instructions: Owyhee River and Snively Hot Springs are 25.0 miles south of Vale. From the intersection in Vale of Highway 20 and Glenn Street, which becomes Lytle Boulevard, head south on Glenn Street to Janeta Avenue, 14.1 miles. There is a market on the right. Turn right and drive to the continuation of Lytle Boulevard, 0.2 mile. Turn left and drive to Owyhee Avenue, 1.7 miles. Turn right and go to Lake Owyhee (unmarked), 1.4 miles.
•Alternatively, from Ontario to this point, take I-84 Exit 376 and head west on Idaho Avenue to 2nd Street, 0.6 mile. Turn left and drive to 4th Street/Highway 201, 0.2 mile. Turn right and go to Owhee Junction, 20.3 miles, between mileposts 7 and 8. Turn right onto Owyhee Avenue and drive to Lake Owyhee Road, 3.9 miles.
•From the Owyhee Avenue/Lake Owyhee Road junction, turn left onto Lake Owyhee Road and go to the turnout next to the source of the hot springs, 6.6 miles (this is 1.4 miles past the point where huge siphon pipes V up both sides of the canyon).
