Go through the metal gate and then turn left after the shed following the path marked with a yellow arrow which passes behind the cottage. Walk through two conifers and follow the path through several gates at the rear of the cottage. The area behind the cottage was the wharf where barges were filled with coal from Lower Conygre Pit. A tramway connected the wharf with the pit head.
