Statue Of James Oswald, George Square

James Oswald was the MP for Glasgow from 1832-37 and from 1839-47. His likeness was made by Baron Carlo Marochetti. It was paid for by friends of the MP, and was erected in 1855. He wears a long coat and holds a top hat, and is leaning casually on his cane in a way that perhaps his friends would have liked to remember him.
