7. Statue Of Sir William Pearce, Govan Road
Sir William Pearce was a wealthy businessman in the shipping industry. He built the Pearce Institute (just visible behind his statue) as a place "for the religious, educational, social and moral welfare of the inhabitants of Govan". He is commemorated in this bronze statue by the sculptor Onslow Ford, from 1894.
