Best viewed from a distance, Helens paintings are loose and expressive. Colour and contrasts are explored and exaggerated. You will find pockets of light, patterns in shadow, glimpses of shiny, metallic surfaces reflecting light from behind fat, flat waxy paint, saturated colours laid on complimentary colours that vibrate with life, like the places they depict.
