Stratham Hill
Category: Abandoned Ski Areas
**April 2009**
Trails: This place really only had one open slope (which is totally grown in today), though part of the summit area where the ski area once was is still maintained as a field.
Lifts: Nothing left. You have to look REALLY close to tell that there was once a ropetow here. There is a depression about 25' long dug into the hillside near the top where the ropetow used to run, along with a conspicuously level area at the top (where the bus that used to power the tow once stood), and an area at the base that looked to have been graded a REALLY long time ago as well. All of these areas are now fully grown in. A few old telephone poles and wooden structures sat on the ground in a makeshift "boneyard" in the back end of the park, but unsure if these had anything to do with the ropetow.
Facilities: Nothing related to the ski area, though it is a nice recreation/park now.
Accessibility: The ski area was located in Stratham Hill Park, which is still used today as a REALLY nice, well, park. Great hiking trails in the area, baseball fields and playgrounds at the base, and a firetower at the top with great views of the Great Bay and the surrounding area. Not much to see NELSAP-wise, but otherwise just a cool place to go hang out.
