Dan's Lost Ski Area Explorations

User Rating

**April 2009**
Trails: Exploring this area before the summer growth occurs made a HUGE difference. Spent most of my time on the main slopes around the quad chair liftline, some of which were quite steep and rocky.
Lifts: Same as last time, though I did find some concrete pads for a lift (I THINK the "Main T-bar") that appeared to go straight up a rocky ledge. It may have been the quad chair though, as the trails in this area were a bit confusing.
Facilities: Same. All gone.
Accessibility: Newer looking hiking/ATV trails criss-cross the main trails now, unsure whether or not they were there before the land became a state reservation a few years ago. They made hiking the main face area a lot easier though.

**September 2008**
Trails: Regrowth continues at a fairly rapid rate.
Lifts: What a difference a year makes! All of them are now GONE. Only lift remnants now are concrete bas pads for the quad chair as well as the concrete structure for the quad's return bullwheel.
Facilities: All gone, aside from a renovated maintenance shack that's now used by the state parks.
Accessibility: Temple is now officially a state reservation park, complete with legit State of New Hampshire Wooden State Park sign!

**June 2007**
Trails: Although the ski area had only been closed since 2001, regrowth at this area has been FAST. Trails were still distinguishable, but many were unhikable because saplings and grasses were growing so quickly.
Lifts: Both of the ski area's chairlifts have been sold (one of which I believe went to Nashoba Valley). One T-bar on the far western slopes remains fully intact, minus T's of course. An old bullwheel from another T-bar remains near the summit of the mountain. Also at the summit were the remains of the unloading ramp and shack for the quad chairlift.
Facilities: Most of the ski area's buildings were torn down not long after the area went under. A few scattered night skiing lights were attached to trees in various places though.
Accessibility: On public land, and old work roads are easily hikeable today. Nice views of the surrounding area from the summit.
