Teresa L’Hirondelle was born in B.C. Canada and has always lived in view of the West coast ocean. L’Hirondelle, at 10 years old, was enrolled in Saturday classes at Beaux Art Studio in West Vancouver, a studio that was shared with the Canadian Artist Robert Wood. At 14 she attended the Vancouver school of Art. She continued her studies in Visual Art at U.B.C. and received a diploma in Graphic Art at Capilano College. In 1982 she exhibited at the F.C.A. gallery and later became an active member. In 1994 she had her first solo show at the Silk Purse in West Vancouver. She sold 8 paintings on opening night and has had numerous exhibitions since then. In 1995 she received the Judy Dennis emerging Artist Award. Teresa has summered on Denman Island since she was a child and continues to do so. In 2006 she became a permanent r3esident of Royston.
Teresa paints in watercolour as she finds it exciting and depicts atmospheric images with the feel of the West coast.
