The East Village Experience

After having spent so much time walking around the South Brooklyn neighborhoods, entering Manhattan via the East Village was a bit of a shock. In Brooklyn everybody was in your business (which I loved!) people would come out of their houses or stop their cars to ask what I was doing. Kids were following me down the street. In the East Village? No one. Not a peep. Guess people aren't surprised by anything anymore. The couple of guys I talked to at the end of the day were actually all residents of Brooklyn, they just worked at the housing complex I went by.
Another not so shocking observation, almost everything below the line in this area, housing projects...
