The Salem Ferry is operated by Water Transportation Alternatives, Inc. The company specializes in high-speed passenger ferry service in the Boston area. Founded in 1996, WTA opened the first high-speed commuter service in Boston, the Harbor Express Water Shuttle serving Boston and Logan Airport from Quincy and Hull seven days a week.
Since that time, the company has continued to expand. They now run the New England Aquarium Whale Watch and Harbor Discovery Cruises, the Harbor Islands Express ferry, and most recently, the Salem Ferry. Each of these services employs state-of-the-art catamaran vessels which provide passengers with the ultimate in speed, comfort, and safety.
