The Shoe Tree

As The Lake Churns

Review: From Priest River, Idaho, drive north to Priest Lake. At the end of Route 57, continue on the dirt road towards the Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars/Granite Falls. Look for the sign for Tillicum Creek Trail #261--it's right there You must access this shoe tree from Priest Lake, Idaho, though it is actually in Washington State. Many shoes are inscribed with names and dates, and many are hanging from very high branches -- how the donors got up there without slipping on previously implanted footwear, I do not know!
