Police are investigating the theft of a sum of money from the cash register of an esplanade store yesterday morning. Staff members at the takeaway business were at the rear of the premises when a male stole a sum of cash from the register. The offender was last seen running through the night market complex toward Abbott Street. He is described as aged 14 to 17 and of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance.
