Police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from outside a Petersen Street residence on Sunday morning. The owner had finished washing his vehicle in the driveway area at about 10.20am and had left the keys in the ignition switch whilst he went upstairs. He returned 20 minutes later to find that his vehicle had been stolen. It is described as being a silver 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser station wagon and has distinctive roof racks fitted in order to carry small dinghies. When stolen the vehicle was bearing Queensland registration 024-DHA.
