THIEVES are targeting childcare centres at Innisfail, smashing windows and searching buildings for cash and cameras.
Det Sgt David Tucker said one Innisfail centre had been broken into twice in 10 days and another was hit this week, thieves smashing a window to search rooms to leave with cash and two digital cameras.
Cash was also stolen from the first centre.
“They jemmied a door the first time and smashed a window the second time, but there was nothing stolen on that occasion,” Det Sgt Tucker said.
He is urging people to install security cameras after a spate of breakins at Innisfail businesses over the past 10 days.
