A 20-year-old Edmonton man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 6 on various charges including evading and obstructing police. On Friday afternoon officers of the Cairns Traffic Branch were conducting a patrol on Anderson Road, Woree when two men on trail bikes entered the roadway from the train tracks. Police attempted to intercept the bikes, but stopped due to adverse weather and road conditions. On re-entering the train tracks one of the riders has skidded on the wet cement where he was apprehended by police. The man was charged with one count each of unregistered, uninsured, unlicensed and evading and obstructing police.
