Two arrested on numerous charges, Manunda

Two men have been charged following a disturbance at an Alfred Street tavern and at a Fabris Street residence around 8.30 Saturday night. The men were refused entry to the tavern and police were called after they allegedly made several threats to the employees and patrons. Police located the pair at Fabris Street where they resisted arrest; one man allegedly smashed the window of a police vehicle after head butting it. A 22-year-old Mooroobool man was charged with refused entry to a licenced premises, committing a public nuisance, wilful damage of police property and obstructing police. A 17-year-old man was charged with refused entry to a licenced premises and committing a public nuisance, both are scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court July 27.
