Two charged over wallet theft at traffic crash, Parramatta Park

A 17-year-old Mooroobool man and a 21-year-old Woree woman have been charged over the theft of property from a taxi driver on Mulgrave Road around 1.50 Sunday morning. The taxi driver had stopped on Mulgrave Road to render assistance to a bicycle rider who had been involved in a traffic crash. The offenders allegedly entered the taxi and stole the driver’s mobile phone and a sum of cash before fleeing. Police located the offenders a short time later and he was charged with entering a premises and committing an indictable offence, robbery and wilful damage. The woman was charged with receiving tainted property. Both are scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court later this month.
