Unlawful use of motor vehicles, Cairns

Police have charged an 18-year-old Manoora woman and a 16-year-old Westcourt youth with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. It is alleged the two stole a red Kawasaki All Terrain buggy and a forklift from a community recreational facility on Mulgrave Road at Parramatta Park. It is alleged the pair damaged grass at the complex after performing hooning acts in the buggy. It is further alleged that the pair were located by police driving the buggy on Sheridan Street, near the Convention Centre at about midnight last night. The woman will appear in the Cairns Magistrates court on August 27. The 16-year-old teenage male will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
