Detectives have charged a 33-year-old Cairns woman following an incident at a Hogan Street unit complex on Friday night. It is alleged the woman had been armed with two knives when she attacked a 36-year-old man at about 11pm. The victim sustained a cut to his neck as a result of the incident and was treated at the Cairns Base Hospital. The woman was charged with unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later today. The victim and the alleged offender were known to each other.
