Along the road that leads from Station Square to the Madonna della Guardia, villas, gardens and beautiful landscapes, rises in places Vegliasco, the circular feature of fifteenth-century tower. Post in a dominant position over the valley of Alassio, the tower is also known as "Tower of Adelasia", daughter of Emperor Otto I. Legend has it that the place where the princess lived was called Alaxia, then Alassio, in his honor. The tower is depicted on the emblem of the city.
