Within the United States there are numerous group of people that have been and remain to be victims of racism, discrimination and intolerance, based on their ethnicities, skin colors and race in general. Four of these races that have experienced and remain to experience racism within the United States throughout its history are Hispanics, Blacks, Asians and Arabs.
Within the United States, Hispanics are typically portrayed by the media as lazy, uneducated crooks. Hispanics are given unfair job opportunities, based on the widespread racism in elementary schools, high schools and colleges towards Hispanics.
Blacks have been victims of racism for hundreds of years. As we all know, they were once victims of slavery by white plantation owners in the South. Blacks were not treated like humans and given no rights. Once abolition occurred, Black racism still existed throughout the United States. Even today many Blacks are seen as unintelligent criminals.
In the early 1900's the Chinese Immigration Act stopped Chinese immigrants from coming to the United States. Other acts also stopped Asian groups from immigrating to the US. This was a result of America's fear of Asians because they were taking jobs on the transcontinental railroad.
US involvement in crises in the Middle East, along with terrorist acts that have occurred including the Oklahoma City bombing, September 11th Attacks and others have caused American racism against Arabs. Arabs are typically seen as terrorists, cab drivers and extremists.
