Wilkes Barre FFA

FFA students from the Wilkes-Barre Area Career & Technical Center in partnership with the Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation (EPCAMR) planned and implemented the Avondale Mine Disaster Community Gardens and Trailhead Development along the Susquehanna Warrior Trail located in Plymouth Township, Luzerne County, PA. With the completion of the project they increased knowledge on the history of the mine and generated pride and interest in its use as an outdoor reflection and activity area.
