Witnesses sought, road rage incident, Captain Cook Highway

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation of an assault on a driver at Clifton Beach that occurred at about 2pm on Monday, February 1. The assault occurred when the occupants of a small white Honda sedan followed the victim in her vehicle traveling northbound from Caravonica to Clifton Beach. The driver of the Honda drove dangerously close behind the victim and pulled alongside when the highway opened to two lanes. The offenders then allegedly yelled profanities and gave rude gestures to the victim. When the victim got out of her car at an address in Clifton Beach she was approached by the female offender who pushed her before punching her several times. The victim sustained bruising and swelling to her face and scratches and marks to her chest as a result.
