Wollman Ice Skating Rink

One of the many reasons why I love living in the city is because everything is just so accessible and there are no limits to what you can do on any day. In the beginning of the winter, my two best friends from camp came over for the weekend. They slept over at my house and when we woke up the next morning, we were bored and we needed something to do. So we started to think of places in the neighborhood that we could go and have fun. We decided that we would go into Central Park and go ice skating for the day at Wollman Rink. We left my building and hailed a cab on the corner. It took us over to central park where we got out, and began to walk through the park. It was a nice day outside so we decided to walk around for a little. Once we made our way over to the rink, we bought our tickets, got our skates and we were ready to go. We skated for around 2 hours until we were tired and decided it was time to go home. We walked back through the park the same way that we came in, got in a cab and we were home. It was all that easy. We just decided that we wanted to go ice skating...and we were there! This is why i love the city so much.

This is a picture of Wollman Rink. I think that the photographer may have taken this photo to show the life and enjoyment of the ice skaters. I think he chose to take it on this day because there was a good amount of skaters on the ice. Not empty, but not too crowded. I noticed the angle that the photographer took the picture from. He took it from the side getting the beautiful New York City buildings in the background. I thought it was a great idea because it shows you the ice skating rink and a part of the New York City culture.
