Police are seeking witnesses after a 21-year-old Mount Sheridan woman was assaulted whilst walking on Abbott Street, Cairns City about 11.35 last night. The woman was approached by a group of approximately six males believed to be of Torres Strait Islander appearance. One male asked the woman for money and when she refused the male allegedly grabbed hold of her bag before punching her in her left cheek.
