Woman charged after traffic incident, Trinity Beach

Smithfield Police have charged a 30-year-old Manunda woman with drink driving and driving without due care following an incident at Trinity Beach early on Wednesday morning. It is alleged that Police intercepted the woman after observing her utility travelling north on the south bound lanes of the Captain Cook Highway at about 1.40am. The woman allegedly returned a breath alcohol reading of .141%. She is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 28.
