Detectives have charged two women aged 19 and 21, following an incident that occurred at an Earl Street unit on Monday night. It is alleged that the pair had been involved in a verbal dispute with two other woman earlier in the evening on Earl Street. It is further alleged that they later entered the women’s unit in company with another male person at about 7pm and assaulted the two victims with sticks. The victims suffered cuts and bruises as a result of the incident. The offenders were charged with entering a dwelling with intent; assault occasioning bodily harm and wilful damage. They are due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on April 14.
