Glasgow Woodlands Art Trail

Woodlands Milestone By Shona Kinloch, West Princes St.
This bronze sculpture is titled "As The Crow Flies" and shows the distances between Glasgow and many other places around the world.

The title relates to how distances are expressed, by the shortest distance between two places as birds would fly. This Milestone For Scotland, erected in 1993, was commissioned by Woodlands Festival Committee.

The distances are inscribed in six languages, reflecting the many nationalities living in Woodlands. The bird has been polished to a shine by people stroking its head.
