Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs baseball team, was built in 1914 and is the second-oldest ballpark in the majors behind Boston's Fenway Park (1912). Originally known as Weeghman Park, the field was the home of Chicago's entry in the Federal League -- the club was known as both the Federals and the Whales.

When the Federal League folded for financial reasons after the 1915 campaign, Weeghman purchased the Cubs from the Taft family of Cincinnati and moved the club to the two-year-old ballpark at the corner of Clark and Addison streets. The park became known as Cubs Park in 1920 after the Wrigley family purchased the team from Weeghman, but was renamed Wrigley Field in 1926 in honor of William Wrigley Jr., the club's owner. The scoreboard, which remains intact today, was constructed in 1937. The score-by-innings and the pitchers' numbers are still changed by hand. Lights were not added to Wrigley Field until 1988.

Tours of Wrigley Field are provided throughout the season. Each 90-minute tour provides an insider's look at over 90 years of history in this legendary ballpark. Tour stops include the Cubs clubhouse, visitors clubhouse, dugouts, mezzanine suites, press box, bleachers, playing field and security headquarters. Advance reservations are required and tours often sell out, so be sure to check the website for tour schedule and get your tickets early.
