Sailors travel overland long distances (one professor came from Tucson, AZ every summer) to enjoy the excellent nearby sailing at the mouth of the Corrotoman and Rappahannock Rivers. The Marina and adjoining yacht club are much loved as a social hub for both sides of the Corrotoman River with the Merry Point Ferry providing the link.
