Police have charged a 15-year-old youth following the theft of a woman’s handbag that occurred on Sheridan Street on Sunday night. Police allege that a 25-year-old woman was dining at a Sheridan Street restaurant at about 9.45pm when the youth walked past her and snatched her handbag from where she had placed it on the footpath. It is alleged he escaped on foot down a laneway and left the area. Police investigations led officers to a Manunda unit where the youth was arrested and some of the woman’s property allegedly recovered. He was charged with stealing from the person and will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992. QP1100426335
